At Tulsa Home and Design we strive to make each design totally unique. Our Mediterranean inspired primary bath design was no exception to this rule. We converted a small window seat and closet area into a dream primary bathroom. Rich warm tones with a neutral backdrop make this room a soothing space to unwind and relax in.

We added sliding doors to separate the bedroom from the bathroom to create a feeling of a grand entrance. These mahogany doors were stained with a light colored stain and have black inset door pulls. The natural light and view of the outdoors is highlighted with the addition of a large dormer window above the freestanding soaking tub. Usually found in architectural elements, we incorporated Mediterranean arches with the arched vanity mirrors. Alabaster sconces and a gorgeous modernized candelabra chandelier are the crowning jewels of the room. Our design team selected aged bronze faucets for the shower, tub and vanity to have a warm vintage feel. (Continue...)

This kitchen has by far been the most dramatic before and after. We took a small outdated kitchen and turned it into an absolute dream while doubling the size. There is so much to talk about in this alluring space. So, let’s start at the beginning. We created an entirely new footprint for the floorplan to make it more functional and pleasing to the eye. This open concept overlooking the living room helped to achieve the goal of a family friendly space for everyone to gather around. The back wall of cabinetry includes a panel ready refrigerator and the focal point of the white custom built range hood with gold trim over top of the gorgeous stove. We chose one of our favorite blue paint colors: Benjamin Moore Granite Peak. The quartzite countertops flow up the wall and serve as the backsplash.

The design is elevated with its rich gold finishes throughout the kitchen on the hardware, pot filler, stove, faucet, bar stools and lighting fixtures. We selected the pendants because we fell in love with their uniquely geometric shaped glass. (Continue...)

Our clients asked us if we could turn their outdated eye sore of a bathroom into an eclectic oasis and we were up for the challenge. A little vintage, a little modern, a little boho. Check. Check. Check.

We started with a soft blue-gray wall color that is so soothing. Classic white penny hexagon tiles are on the floors and shower niches.  We selected large format, neutral wall tiles for the shower trimmed out in gold. The gold plumbing fixtures add an element of luxury to the space.

We chose the mirrors because we loved the shape and frames. The three sconces give ample lighting for getting ready on those tired mornings. The navy double vanity has multiple drawers for storage and the perfect area beneath for baskets and towels. We brought in the boho with the rug and fun artwork.

The mud will wash off but the memories will last a lifetime. In this mudroom we incorporated a timeless white and black tile. Inset stained red oak drawers line the bottom of the built-ins as the perfect spot for hats, gloves or shoes. The above cabinets are painted in Benjamin Moore Knoxville Gray and have beautiful gold hardware. On one side of the floor to ceiling cabinetry is a coat closet and the other side has separated sections with hooks for backpacks, coats etc. While this is usually a utilitarian room, we didn’t skimp on style.  (Continue...)

Laundry is one of those unavoidable facts of life. Many of us find it to be a boring, never-ending task. As designers, we never miss an opportunity to bring joy into our clients home. No room is overlooked. This laundry room was a part of a home addition that we designed and built. This room is up to the task of cheering up anyone assigned to the pesky job of doing the laundry. We took this room as a chance to take some risks with design that the client might have otherwise hesitated to incorporate into the main areas of the home. We punched up the wow factor with a decorative floral wallpaper on the ceiling and a stunning gold light fixture. An earthy pink paint color covers the many cabinets to store all of those unsightly items we don’t necessarily want to look at. There is plenty of counter space for all of that folding that needs to be done on the gorgeous quartzite countertops. A farmhouse sink adds a touch of vintage, timeless style.

When our clients asked us if we could come up with a design for a feminine teen bathroom we jumped for joy at the opportunity. The showstopper in the bathroom is of course the pink tiled shower! We chose a fun rosy pink subway tile and took it from floor to ceiling. The featured back wall was installed in a herringbone pattern and the sides in a horizontal straight stack. We chose to do the two installation methods to add interest to a pretty simple shape of tile.

A champagne gold rain shower head is on one wall and the shower lever is on the opposite wall below the niche cutout. The niche gives easy access to products such as shampoo and conditioner. The marble hexagon floor tile flows seamlessly from the bathroom into the curbless shower.

The client opted to keep the big mirrors that wrapped around the side walls. We didn’t want the mirrors to look builder grade so our design team set out to find the perfect pair of mirrors.  (Continue...)

We all know that spending time outdoors helps us to feel more at peace and connected with nature. We focus on creating spaces that serve our clients. We took this humdrum backyard and turned it into a character-rich atmosphere for lounging, entertaining and enjoying the outdoors. The combination of stone and cedar architectural pieces made this patio blend perfectly with the natural elements of nature. We created a feature “wall” with stone that incorporated a large fireplace with a bench all of the way across. Pillars on each end were the perfect spot for outdoor lanterns. Underneath the bench are two nooks for firewood for the wood burning fireplace. The furniture that we selected perfectly fits the space. A sectional provides a large space for family and friends while entertaining and a teak dining table for late summer night dinners.

This bathroom renovation called for a crisp and clean vibe. Our goal was for it to be a space where our clients could feel at peace and restored. We painted the walls Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace and used all of the white marble, marble, marble! We selected a fun mosaic pattern tile on the floor of the bathroom and a uniquely shaped small scale tile on the shower floor. The tub surround and shower walls have a 12x24 white marble with gorgeous blue gray veining. A light gray quartzite sits atop the vanities. Double shower heads because “Two heads are better than one.” 😉  We pulled in gold details with the faucets, hardware and a lantern style chandelier over the soaking bathtub. (Continue...)

When our clients asked if we could help them with giving the exterior of their Tudor home a new paint scheme we were thrilled. At Tulsa Home and Design we love taking the traditional charm of older homes and adding a modern twist.  Tudor-style homes are often decorated with half-timbering, which refers to the exposed wood framework filled in with stucco or stone. This updated Tudor puts a modern spin on that classic feature with a gorgeous blue and white paint job. We chose to put Benjamin Moore Santorini Blue on the half-timbering and Benjamin Moore White Dove on the brick and stucco. This added the perfect amount of contrast to make the design pop.  Of course we did not paint the original beautiful stained wood front door and left the original oversized lanterns as they were in perfect working condition.

This little powder bath renovation packs a big design punch. There are so many details to love about it. Let’s talk about the whimsical wallpaper! Playful flowers and leaves with neutrals and blues give this wallpaper the perfect balance of spunk and tranquility. The leaf sconces pull from the leaf design element that is in the wallpaper.  We love the Moroccan inspired shape of the gold framed mirror. The white oak vanity was custom built to perfectly fit the space. Quartzite countertops with a decorative backsplash and clover shaped hardware, take this tiny room to the next level. I would be so excited for any guest to powder their nose in this room.  (Continue...)

Half baths are primarily used by guests, so it’s nice to leave a lasting impression. It is important to us when designing small spaces that we don’t skimp on the style. There are many ways that we used design to make this room appear larger than it really is. We selected an open gold vanity base with vintage appeal to make the floor print larger than it would be if we would have used a closed vanity. The wainscoting adds dimension to the space and the dark paint color causes the walls to appear to recede into the distance. To make the room feel light and airy we sourced a white cloud print wallpaper for above the wainscoting. We wrapped it up onto the ceiling to draw your eye up to make the room appear taller. A little fun is added with the unique pendant light fixture. Let’s just say that it is okay to have your head in the clouds in this adorable powder bath.

This bathroom was designed for a precious teenage girl.  What girl wouldn’t want this for her bathroom? We wanted to incorporate an ideal mix of modern and traditional elements in this one.  We accomplished this with the clean lines of the large format marble tile on the shower walls and marble hex floor tile. We combined that with a more traditional moment in the mural wallpaper behind the vanity. The added touch of whimsy from the lavender vanity paint color made this space altogether unique.
